If you came to this site hoping to find an auto racing college, you may be disappointed. The sad reality is that there aren't any universities which offer racing degrees. That said, you can readily find a racing/driving school or experience at most racetracks nationwide. The question then becomes which is better—a racing experience (which usually gives you an hour or two of track time) or a more comprehensive racing/driving school. Before you can begin looking for a racing course, experience, or school, there are a few factors you should consider:
- Racing Focus: What kind of racecar do you want to drive? Driving options include roadsters, stock cars, formula cars, dragsters, sports cars, karts, and more.
- Cost: The cost of racing instruction varies by track time. Racing day experiences (3-100 laps) generally cost $50-$500. Racing schools cost $1000 and up. How much are you willing to invest?
- Student-teacher ratio: Though all programs offer some one-on-one racing instruction, schools offer extensive instruction whereas racing experiences tend to only offer instruction for the first few laps.

- Derek Daily Academy : Offers 1, 2, 3, and 5 day classes. Racers who complete the 3-day course will be eligible for an SCCA Regional Competition License. Racers drive Formula 2000 cars before progressing to radials and slicks.
